Sydney and surrounds
Sydney - said by many to be the world's most beautiful city? Perhaps - its a matter of opinion. I grew up in Sydney and if a rugged coastline with majestic cliffs, glorious white sandy beaches, a sheltered harbour littered with more safe beaches and waterfront picnic spots, two architectural landmarks in the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, a vibrant cosmopolitan city to rival the major cities of the world and day tripping options all around the outskirts float your boat, then Sydney fits the bill.
Did I mention the weather? Never too hot in summer - if its hot you go to the beach or find a place by the water to enjoy the cool sea breezes. Never too cold in winter.
You can see why Sydney is such a popular city and while it has 4 million people it doesn't feel crowded as it is separated by all its waterways and beautiful harbour.
Within an hour you can be out of Sydney and day tripping opportunities galore are on offer. Coastal scenery, The Blue Mountains, Jenolan Caves, the Hunter Valley wine region to name but a few.
