Whitsundays

The Whitsundays are a group of 74 islands off the tropical mid north coast of Queensland. They are home to many island resorts, some 5 star, some very eco friendly, a world class golf resort, two airports, the worlds best beach and are tucked inside the Great Barrier reef.

As such you can imagine the quality of hoilday that can be enjoyed here. Among the most favoured of Australian experiences is charter boating - or bareboating - around these magnificent, safe and sheltered waterways. You can skipper yourself or have a crew, and you can go wherever you please to find that secluded beach, bay or snorkelling spot.

Whitehaven beach is a must do day trip as is the Whitsundays newest attraction for golfers on it's own island opposite the Hamilton island marina.

Airlie Beach is the main town or starting point for your Whitsunday experience. The laid back town has just had a big makeover and is the perfect place to hang out and get your cafe fix and soak up the atmosphere.  It is packed with classy accommodation and most enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding islands.

Perfect for your wedding, conference, fishing trip, golfing escape, honeymoon or family holiday Airlie beach is a wonderful addition to any Australian holiday.

The Whitsundays should be a guaranteed part of your trip as from here you can also take a day trip to experience the Great Barrier Reef.

Qantas now flying into Hamilton Island 3 days a week direct from Sydney.

Qantas has announced the resumption of direct flights during peak season.
