Murray River Trails was created by passionate local river expert Tony Sharley, offering three different multiday tours for small groups of up to 10 people in the most beautiful, remote and highly conserved reaches of Australia’s longest river.
Our luxurious eco-houseboat – High River – is your home, with 6 ensuite rooms it provides the perfect accommodation base for guests to enjoy continuous connection to the river on every tour. After a day’s exploring, guests return home to a locally inspired menu with native flavours and award-winning wines.
Learn about the rich stories of the Murray River Trails, its remarkable journey, enduring Aboriginal culture, diverse wildlife and wetlands, pioneers and innovators, and inspiring environmental stewardship.
Tours depart from the historic Riverland town of Renmark which is a 3-hour drive from Adelaide, 1.5hrs from Mildura.
Murray River Safari tour is a relaxed 4-day 3-night guided experience where you’ll discover the wildlife of Australia’s greatest river while exploring its wetlands and lakes, redgum forests and cliffs. Capture the spectacular images of river reflections at dawn and dusk and the stars of the dark inland sky.
Enjoy guided walking, canoeing, river cruising and driving tours as we encounter koalas, kangaroos, emus and many of the 180 species of birds that call this region home. Each night your houseboat will be moored in a new location with a new spectacular view.
Tours depart weekly in March, April, October and November
Murray River Walk tour is an easy paced 4-day 3-night guided walk along peaceful waterways, creeks and billabongs, though redgum forests and over the red ochre cliffs that offer spectacular views of the river valley. Wildlife is always close to water.
Each day your comfortable houseboat home moves to your walking destination.
Daily walking distances from 10 to 14 km.
Tours depart weekly in the cool sunny months from May to September.
Murray River Escapes tours enable you to gather a group of friends and family and create a private tailored itinerary on our luxury houseboat High River. Start with a standard hire of 4-7 nights and tailor your itinerary with a selection of optional extras including guided canoeing/bushwalking, winery/distillery tours, and private chef dinners.
Murray River Trails Escapes are available over the summer months December, January and February.
