Ahh! The King Valley. My favourite drive in all of my travels around Australia.
When travelling from Sydney to Melbourne by road you get off the Hume highway at Albury/Wodonga and head to Beechworth. Then across to Milawa and through the King Valley to Mansfield. Apart from the historic buildings, magnificent scenery, wine country and Cheese factory at Miliwa, the open countryside with majestic hills and quality B&B’s make this a drive to savour.
The road is uncrowded and good quality and the King valley is so beautiful you will want to stop at every turn in the road, of which there are many.
The King Valley is known as a premier gourmet region of Victoria and with Victoria having so many great food and wine destinations that is a big accolade indeed.
